In conjunction Paul Webb and Schalk Du Plooy from the Nelson Mandela Bay University, ABYC has organised a Wednesday Evening Sail for a maximum of 20 students on 29 October 2014. Schalk, from Kwazulu-Natal is a PHD Botanist at NMMU and sailor and will be the contact point for students wishing to sail. Those students who join ABYC will be able to take part in the regular Sailing School sessions and we are in the throes of getting both Qwaggas shipshape for our older youth and students to sail on - we reckon the Qwaggas should be ready towards the end of November. John Tudehope reports: The Pier Dash race was delayed as the RO was MIA due to work. Five boats were on the water with a moderate SW. Unfortunately Chinook & Struan where disqualified for crossing the line too early, Wild Thing was last seen heading off to Coega enjoying a fast and ruthless sail with her asymmetrical, leaving Sewen & Jellybaby both with only 2 hands on-board. Jellybaby was ruthless showing no mercy taking both line honours and position comfortably.
