The inaugural Redhouse Yacht Club 24 Hour Sailing Challenge was held on the North End Lake on the weekend of 31 October to 1 November 2015.
Seven Sailing Teams and one paddling team (NMMU Paramedic Students) took part.
Over the 24 hours the NMMU Paramedic Students covered a distance of 131.43 kilometres.
The winning sailing team - North Sonnet - on a ............. Sonnet covered a distance of 107.3 kilometres.
The top three sailing teams all sailed Sonnets and only 8 kilometres separated the Top 3.
The East Cape Power Boat Club graciously made their facilities available for the sailors.

Ahead of the 60th 505 World Championships in Port Elizabeth from 23 March to 3 April the local 505 Organising Committee held a New Years Regatta from 2 to 4 January 2014.

The 2015 Vasco Da Gama Ocean Race hosted by Point and Algoa Bay Yacht Clubs set off from Durban at 12h00 on Saturday 25 April, destination: Port Elizabeth.
17 boats started and 8 boats retired in the gruelling 400 Nautical Mile trip down South Africa's East Coast.
On arrival in Port Elizabeth, Africa's friendliest yacht club - ABYC - treated each competitior to breakfast, no matter what time they arrived.

The Transvaal Yacht Club hosted 12 entries for the Youth Interclub Keel boat Championship from 13 to 16 June 2015.
KZN - 2, Eastern Cape - 3, Northwest - 3, Freestate - 2, Gauteng - 1, Mpumalanga - 1.
ABYC was represented by Jordan van Zyl - Priory, Bronwyn van Wyngaardt - Collegiate Girls High School, Jenna Bailes - Collegiate Girls High School, Chad Bilsbury - Grey High School and Tamryn Bailes - Collegiate Junior School. Sigi and Tony Bailes provided coaching and chaperone.
