30th Anniversary Women’s Keelboat Championship in Fremantle

The 30th Anniversary Regatta (Women State Keelboat Championship) is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 7th November at Fremantle Sailing Club.
This is the first time that Swan River Sailing is moving the Foundation-36 fleet to Freo Waters (Bathers Beach) specifically for the women’s competition. We encourage all female sailors to enjoy a special Sunday filled with inshore racing, fun, and friends. It would be fantastic to see some “reunion” teams back out on the water for this celebration.
The Women’s State Keelboat Championship is traditionally a Swan River Sailing Annual Community Event but we are adding a second all-female regatta to the 2021/2022 Events Calendar to celebrate its three decades! “The real aim is to offer to the local female keelboat sailors an extra reason to train together, develop skills and make new connections within the sailing community in Western Australia”, says Andy Fethers, SRS Executive Officer.
Fremantle Sailing Club has already expressed its interest and two teams with 15 female sailors might be registered next week. We hope to see the whole fleet of 9 yachts being taken by the WA Sailing/Yacht Clubs and their Women Development Program participants, registrations are now open here.
