ABYC Week 2017

13 May 2017

24 May UPDATE:

Algoa Bay Sailing Week 2017 – Amendment to Notice of Race:

In response to feedback from registered and potential competitors in this ABSWeek 2017 Regatta, ABYC has made the decision to shorten the event: now from Saturday 27 to Sunday 28th May. Yacht entry fees have been consequently reduced from R700 per yacht to R500, R300 for Hobies. Crew fees remain at R50 each, but with no late entry fees. Please pay via EFT or at the bar.

We will have a Registration evening in the ABYC bar at 18h00 this Friday, before the usual Friday Draw. We will provide the Sailing Instructions and goody items, including ABYC caps, upon registration. We encourage you to be at the Registration, not only for the snacks we are laying on, but for the announcement of the Saturday morning skippers’ meeting and race start time, which may be delayed due to the passing front. We will still have a late registration on Saturday morning 08h30-09h30, with skippers provisionally at 09h30. Race Officer Ronnie Baer will be aiming to get at least 4 races in over the two days of fun, competitive sailing.

The beer promo girls will be out in force on Saturday night at the bring&braai.

Hope to see many of you out on the course!

Morgan Griffiths

Race Convenor

The Algoa Bay Sailing Week 2017 will be sailed out of the Algoa Bay Yacht Club, Port Elizabeth, from 26 to 28 May 2017.
