St Francis Bay Frolic: 16-17 January

7 December 2015

Notice of Race for Port Elizabeth to St Francis and back over 16 & 17 January 2016 (weather dependent). This is a good opportunity for gaining 100 coastal miles, watch-keeping and night hours towards advanced skipper gradings. Skippers will be at 19h30 Saturday 16th, start at 20h00 (shipping dependant). The co-ordinates of the Turning Marker will be posted with the sailing instructions. The turning marker will be an imaginary mark off Cape St Francis Harbour. (The permanent marker off the Harbour Wall has been moved closer to the break-water and is too dangerous for use in a strong Easterly as a rounding mark!)

Skippers holding only a Day Skippers Ticket to please liaise with Eugene Lombard or Phil Rademan for vetting. All yachts to have suitable working navigational equipment and a GPS, preferably with a Chart Plotter linked to GPS. All boasts must have an up to-date COF. Yachts are strongly advised to carry Life-rafts. More details to follow.
