Alan Straton

As the overall responsible person for the smooth running of ABYC the Commodore strives to make the Club more viable by growing its membership and increasing club activity with the emphasis on sailing. The activities to support this mission are:

More active sailing with more sailing members
Organised racing
Regattas
Juniors programme
A stable Marina Relationship
Maintenance of equipment
An active social programme to increase member Club usage
An active promotion programme

All the while exercising effective and conservative control of finances in order to balance financial growth with controlled expenditure to support sailing and social activities. All Exco positions are voluntary and unpaid. Alan Straton is a long serving ABYC Member with experience as Honorary Secretary, Vice Commodore, Rear Commodore Marketing and now Commodore. My main goal is to; "Make the Exco a vibrant and responsive unit" and my measure of success will be to see members actively putting their names forward for election.
