As a sporting club ABYC is populated with members who support South Africa in all it’s sporting disciplines. Yesterday was the turn of the rugby Springboks who played against the Italian rugby team, the Azzuri.
Of course we have a number of armchair experts who pass on their knowledge to the referee and I am just waiting for the day that the ref acknowledges the shouted instructions and changes his call!
One of ABYC’s legends appeared to be subtly supporting the Azurri though as he attempted to ape the pigtail hair style of Italian Flyhalf, Kelly Haimona – see below!
South Africa followed up last weekend’s win over England with a 22-6 victory over Italy in Padova.
Tries from Coenie Oosthuizen in the first half and Cobus Reinach in the second took the Springboks out of reach of an Italian side who competed well in the scrum and battled until the end but could not break down the visiting defence.
Bryan Habana added a third score in the last minute, his 57th in 105 Tests, to ease any nerves and ensure his side head to Wales next weekend in winning form.
