Results: Small Circle Race 24 November 2013

27 November 2013

Final results from the Small Circle Race sailed on 24 November 2013:

Rank Boat Class HelmName TCF Elapsed Corrected BCR Points
1 Malgas L34 Tony Bailes 0.923 3:19:04 3:03:44 0.923 1
2 Tikalox II Muira Rob Smith 0.89 3:40:40 3:16:24 0.833 2
3 Chinook Farr 38 Bill Lee 1.035 3:11:04 3:17:45 0.962 3
4 Warrior Simonis 63 (Cruising) Phil Gutsche 1.280 2:35:39 3:19:14 1.18 4

Welcome additions to the fleet were Chinook and Warrior – nice one guys.

The Small Circle Race started in a moderate Easterly with flat seas that later became very lumpy with lots of white water as the wind strengthened.

It was great to see an old campaigner at the start Chinook, and hopefully this race will re-instil that great sailing feeling back into her soul.

Warrior was taking no prisoners and intimidated the small fleet on the run-up to the start. Malgas maintained her composure despite the “arge-barge” coming from the other competitors by pipping the fleet over the start line. ABYC maestro Tikalox 2 maintained a vigil behind the fleet over the start and given her past experience maintained a respectful position throughout the race.
