queen mary

Remember what happened the last time the Queen Mary visited us?

14 April 2015

After last visiting here on Monday 8 April 2013 the RMS Queen Mary 2 will dock in the Port of Port Elizabeth at around 06h30 on Wednesday morning 15 April.

The Queen Mary 2 is scheduled to leave the Port at 18h30 on the same day.

On her last visit the Queen Mary was a huge stately presence in the Port and the queue to gain entrance at the Baakens/ABYC entrance stretched all the way back to the old Jadene Ice Rink.

The deck at the Algoa Bay Yacht Club positively groaned with eager spectators who watched the Queen Mary 2 leave the Port.

Now with the deck at ABYC having been recently closed in the area from which to watch harbour activity has become far more convivial and you would be well advised to make an online booking at The Chartroom Restaurant well in advance for the best seats from which to view the Queen Mary 2 leave the Port.

See you on Monday at 5:30 pm

7 April 2013

The Queen Mary 2 ocean liner will be docking in the Port Elizabeth harbour at 08h00 on Monday 8 April 2013.

This is an historic first time visit for this graceful liner.

See more information about this visit here: Watch the Queen Mary 2 arrive and dock in PE from your desk.

The Queen Mary 2 is scheduled to depart for Cape Town at 18h00 and, in my humble opinion, the deck of our Yacht Club should make for a spectacular viewing point, so, I am just asking;

“Will we see you on the deck of ABYC for a sundowner to toast the Queen Mary 2 bon voyage?”

See the Queen Mary 2 enter and leave the Port Elizabeth Harbour on Monday 8 April 2013:
