Happy Birthday to you

14 September 2013

Today the Algoa Bay Yacht Club celebrates it’s 54th birthday.

As a valued club member; “Happy Birthday”.

The opening of the season sailpast takes place today – muster at 1:00 p.m outside the Bitter End for the usual madcap instructions and issuing of water balloons. Will someone please remember to bring a cake.

Once the sailpast is … well …. past then you are invited to the Bitter End for Sailors Hour and the opportunity to burn a chop, frighten a steak, shovel a boerewors or fork limp lettuce into your gaping maw.

A feature of all organised sailing events this sailing season will be a Sailors Hour at the Bitter End after each event. At this moment in time it is envisaged that fires will also be lit.

By the way – students are allowed to attend this Happy Hour around the teak reef but ONLY if they have gone sailing.
