Wednesday Evening Series Standings to 2 December:

What better way to break a week than with a sail on Hump Day?

The series standings up to 2 December 2015 for this fun series:

Winds and shipping movements being favourable, this Wednesday evening sail – 9 December – will be the last of 2015; the next one being on Wednesday 6 January 2016. Provisional course is around Bellbuoy, starting 17h30 (Harbour start and finish). ABYC will be sponsoring a boerie roll for first 50 race participants.

Rose Bowl November 2015 Results

This race for female helms and/or skippers was held on Sunday 22 November. There were five competing yachts, with a few she-males and a kilted Scotsman adding to the colour. The race was sailed in fresh SW winds, which made for fast tacking at the starting line. A collision at the start saw Fling retiring, with the four remaining yachts enjoying a fast sail around the Ngqura Harbour entrance port lateral mark.

2015 Centenary Cup – 24, 26 & 27 September

This event over the coming long weekend will consist of at least two medium distance races on Thursday 24th (Skippers at 10h30, start at 11am, either Port of Ngqura or Rybanks) and Saturday 26th (Skippers at 10h30, start at 11am either Port of Ngqura or Rybanks), so that handicaps come into fair play. Sunday has round-the cans races planned (Skippers at 9h30, start at 11am) – all weather and shipping movement dependent.

2015 SAS Eastern Cape Provincial Championships

The SAS Eastern Cape Provincial Championships Incorporating SA Fireball and Mirror National Championships will be sailed on Wriggleswade Dam in Stutterheim, Eastern Cape from 3 to 5 October 2015.

The SAS Youth Nationals will be sailed on Wriggleswade Dam in Stutterheim, Eastern Cape from 13 to 18 December 2015.

2015 ABYC Prize-giving Winners

Around a hundred members gathered for ABYC’s annual prize-giving ceremony on a chilly Mandela Day, 18 July 2015 at ABYC. (Scroll down for the images).

Morgan Griffiths’ first prize-giving as Sailing Commodore was handled with aplomb and efficiency as he roped Glynnis in to dole out the prizes and hugs to our fantastic sailors.
