5O5 Prizegiving Images

19 April 2015

Received a bunch of images from the 2015 60th SAP 5O5 World Championships Prizegiving that was held at the Algoa Bay Yacht Club on the evening of 3 April 2015.

The images were courtesy of Glen Meyburg. Catch Glen at work – Imagio – or at home – Meyburgh.

My favourite has to be this one below of a smiling Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Executive Mayor – Oom Ben Fihla – getting a hug from Alan Straton whilst Marion Harning applauds. Click here or scroll down to see all of Glen’s photographs.

2013/14 Sailing Season Awards

23 June 2014

This year’s prize giving on Saturday 21 June 2014 saw junior and senior sailors being recognised for their sailing achievements over the course of the 2013/14 sailing season. Malgas’ consistency helped them sweep the table to take bulk of the silver-ware, and deservingly so. The combination of Tony and Ziggy’s sailing skills and competitiveness plus a relatively “new crew” to sailing, gave them the continued edge over other boats. Until another boat of the same calibre enters the fray there will be no stopping them, time will tell!
